Hrayr Tovmasyan About His Becoming a Republican (Video)

March 16,2012 15:55

It turns out that Hrayr Tovmasyan, the minister of justice, has liked the Republican Party’s ideas for a long time and in response to a question of www.aravot.am why he had decided to appear in the ranks of that party in the run-up to the election, the minister said that the pre-election period was the right time to make decisions, “Those are political processes – a congress, then an election is before us – it is a good opportunity to make decisions.”

In response to a question of Radio Liberty whether they had made him become the party member, Mr. Tovmasyan said, “They didn’t make – nobody needs an unwilling party member. I have been working in a political team for more than one year, certain projects have been implemented during that time and there has been quite some time for me to make a decision whether I will continue or not. And if I continue, it offers an additional opportunity to take part in making political decisions concerning the field that I manage.”

In response to a question whether the minister would pin the party badge on his chest, Mr. Tovmasyan said that most probably he would get the party membership card that day, “Pinning or not pinning, besides being active, has nothing to do with like-mindedness.”
