Lyudmila Sargsyan, the chairman of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP) thinks that everyone tries to avoid taking responsibility for the situation that is created in Armenia in the pre-election period. “I am talking about the ruling, coalition parties. If such criticism is voiced, I think, being in the National Assembly for 5 years, they could have solved those issues, they could have avoided voting in favor of those decisions, if they think now that these are groundless and against the people,” the SDHP chairman said to www.aravot.am.
Ms. Sargsyan thinks that the criticizing speeches made at the congress that took place on March 17 were caused by intention to guarantee maximum votes. She doesn’t rule out that the party will employ not only criticism, but also other methods to guarantee those votes, “Let us wait and see – perhaps there will be other steps too.”
It was hard for Ms. Sargsyan to make predictions on the possibility of cooperation between the ANC and the PAP, she just added, “I don’t rule out cooperation with a certain force at a particular time, if it concerns holding a fair and transparent election and supervising it jointly.”
