Chairwoman of Reorganized Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (RSDHP), Lyudmila Sargsyan does not associate the reason with the former prime minister’s work
– Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan has already announced his resignation. The formulations will be followed in the evening after the session of the RPA Council and SB and everything will be clear then. Nevertheless, was this Hovik Abrahamyan’s decision as he presented or the party’s decision, which was imposed on him? Was the reason Hovik Abrahamyan’s poor working?
– I do not think that Hovik Abrahamyan’s resignation was associated with his good or bad working. I see this resignation in the context of more of political realignments. When after the July events, Serzh Sargsyan announced the formation of a government of national accord in order to be able to alleviate the tensions in the society and partly to satisfy certain expectations, it was already clear that some rearrangements are going to take place in the ruling elite. And since we are talking about a government of national accord, one could assume this scenario. But I did see the logic of the government change at this stage because of the upcoming elections. I do not think that the new government can make rapid and radical changes in the economy of our country that could raise the government rating. In any case, all this should not be accepted so painful. Hovik Abrahamyan is a key figure in RPA and the ruling system not to see his being on demand. He has passed quite a serious way in the government system. I do not think Hovik Abrahamyan earnings will be neglected. In the near future, I think the answer to this question will be given too.
– In the beginning of his tenure, Hovik Abrahamyan promised to do so that all would be good and people will be satisfied. But, it did not happen.

– Hovik Abrahamyan has received such an economy from Tigran Sargsyan, the recovery of which was possible in a short time only with a magic wand. It requires a long time. This does not mean that I am satisfied with the government’s work. But to be objective, I must say that Hovik Abrahamyan was a Prime Minister by a human face. He has very positive human qualities. A man who is capable of offering a hand if there is a need for it, he is capable of listening and is trying to do more than his predecessors. He was able to communicate with all the wings of the political spectrum, he was able to listen to people and be attentive to their problems. As to how he was successful in solving them, I cannot say. He failed to accomplish a lot for different reasons. The public dissatisfaction with the social situation in the country was so great that it was impossible to satisfy people with little successes. Personally, I have had several chances to meet with Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, to be engaged in business conversations, including the anti-corruption programs. Some approaches were considered by him acceptable and feasible, some steps were already visible. But the problem is that such a system is formed in our country, the estimates of which are repeatedly voiced by different people, which strongly limits the possibilities of the Prime Minister. Not everything the prime minister could implement even if he wants to.
– In what sphere will RPA use Hovik Abrahamyan’s capabilities, according to you, if it uses them in general?
– I am confident that it will use them. I think Hovik Abrahamyan will be the head of RPA’s pre-election HQ in the upcoming parliamentary elections. So far, at least, RPA was not dissatisfied with the outcomes of the elections held by him.
– Does this assume his return to the Parliament?
– I do not rule out. I personally felt regret when Hovik Abrahamyan went to the government. He was one of the best leaders of the Parliament as he was able to conduct coordinated work and ensure the positive atmosphere in the parliament.
