“It was quite a successful speech tended to the future,” such an opinion was expressed by NA ANC MP Lyudmila Sargsyan regarding Serzh Sargsyan speech yesterday. “But I cannot understand the objectives that the current president pursues in the future. In any case, I think that it was a message to his team that he exists and possibly will continue to play a serious role. There is a problem of maintaining the team, it existed in all times that during the last year of the president’s tenure the team trying to find a new owner, and various groups are formed, as a result, we can see the government pyramid, now there is a task to maintain this pyramid, and to do it, everyone should clearly know that today, the owner of the situation is still Serzh Sargsyan,” said the parliamentarian.
Referring to the President’s view that “as a result of the constitutional changes, the political structure of Armenia will become more open, more flexible, and intricate. Parties and coalitions will form executive bodies and make nominations for the leading positions of the state and local governance bodies”, Ms. Sargsyan said that the Constitution provides these opportunities, however, “So far, the facts are not talking that we can take fully use these opportunities. I would like to see that what is said is implemented. But being a realist, I’m not sure that everything that is said, the steps in that direction in the near future will be very visible.
This does not mean that we should not strive for that. The public behavior on this issue is also important that as we will be demanding for the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution, so as we can expect that this Constitution will serve the people. If we are sitting silent and watch like a witness how the Constitution is used, of course, it will serve only the ruling elite.”
According to Serzh Sargsyan, “We should get used to the idea that to the East from Martakert and Martuni and to the West from Gyumri and Armavir, we don’t have real partners.” Lyudmila Sargsyan agrees with the words of Serzh Sargsyan, “The President acknowledged that we need to rely on our strength. I’ve always been of the opinion that we should not seek a friend in partner countries, every country is guided by its primary benefits, as a result of the combination of these benefits, you should be able to get out in the most advantageous position. We should not look for friends because essentially no one is anyone’s friend, everybody is seeking for its own benefits in this region, it is high the time for the political field to understand that neither Russia nor Iran nor the West and no one is a friend to us.”

And Serzh Sargsyan’s “disappointing” statement, saying “We have to disappoint the proponents of perpetual revolutions. We will make no haste. Haste and credulity in carrying out structural changes in the political area never yield good results,” according to Ms. Sargsyan, it was not addressed to the opposition, “Serzh Sargsyan is well aware that the opposition has no resources to carry out a revolution today, it was said for internal circulation. This message can be attributed to his own team, if there are any risks, then they could be inside the ruling party.”
