Today presentation of the book The Armenian Genocide in Literature in English took place at the press hall of Noyyan Tapan agency. Author of the book Rubina Peroomian, a researcher and a professor at the University of California, informed journalists that this was her third book. The first one was published in 1993 – Literary Responses to Catastrophe – and the second one in 2008 – And Those Who Continued Living in Turkey After. “I hope that every Armenian’s face is turned to a crime that is impudently denied. I see struggle for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide everywhere. It would be better, if it was more organized and joint,” said Ms. Peroomian.
She wants her book to be a contribution to the field of genocidology.
The book The Armenian Genocide in Literature was published under the sponsorship of the Armenian Genocide Museum Institute. Director of the latter Hayk Demoyan stated that this was the second book that had been published by their support, “It doesn’t matter where the book is written – in Armenia or any other country – the important thing is being published. The book is important in terms of content insofar as the people who underwent the Genocide expressed their feelings through literature.”
