Today representatives of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), the Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) and the Armenian Communist Party (ACP) had a meeting, during which agreements were reached on cooperation for fighting election fraud during the election process. Aram Safaryan, the secretary of the PAP faction, told www.aravot.am about this. Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), also participated in the meeting.
Davit Harutyunyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) executive committee, whose proposal resulted in establishing this format of cooperation, said that the meeting was confidential and they couldn’t make the details public.
Representatives of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) and the United Armenians who also participate in the election struggle didn’t participate in the meeting. www.aravot.am didn’t manage to get a clarification from the ANC on the reasons for not participating, but let us remind that the ANC figures had voiced their mistrust of the given cooperation earlier.
Although the representative of the Heritage Party wasn’t present at today’s meeting, they assured us that there was only a technical reason for that, since the party was generally in favor of this format.
