Hmayak Hovhannisyan Has Obviously Distorted the Facts, the Heritage Party Says

April 18,2012 14:21

Today Hmayak Hovhannisyan, the president of the Union of Political Scientists, assured during a meeting of the joint staff of the three opposition forces that he had talked with Khachatur Kokobelyan and Alexander Arzumanyan the previous day and the latter had informed that they would not take back their signatures on the document about establishing a joint staff and they would continue participating in the work of the staff. Moreover, Hmayak Hovhannisyan stated that the information on www.lragir.am, according to which Ruben Hakobyan, the deputy chairman of the Heritage Party, didn’t want to participate in the work of the joint staff, “is only his opinion.”

Hovsep Khurshudyan, the press secretary of the Heritage Party campaign headquarters, stated in this regard during a conversation with www.aravot.am that Hmayak Hovhannisyan had obviously distorted the facts, “I have just talked to Alexander Arzumanyan and he said that he had accidentally met with Hmayak Hovhannisyan in the street yesterday, but no such issue had

been discussed during that conversation. We are confused why Hmayak Hovhannisyan has made such a statement on behalf of the Heritage Party.

As for participating or not participating in the activities of the joint staff, the statement of the Heritage Party campaign headquarters on conducting a free and fair election is still in force. It is clearly stated, under which conditions the Heritage Party may participate in the activities of that staff and in that sense, the interview given by Ruben Hakobyan to www.lragir.am is completely in the framework of the statement we have made.”
