Vahan Hovhannisyan, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) parliamentary group leader, as we have informed, has invited every political force to debate. During a conversation with www.aravot.am, we inquired whether the invitation referred to every member of a party, regardless of who he was, whether he was in the 45th place or whether in that case he would say that he was not of his caliber. He responded, “There is no issue of caliber, I am not the person who talks to people measuring their calibers. However, he should at least be able to debate. There are characters who will not be able, they couldn’t in the parliament, they will not be able now either. Therefore, it is logical that I invite number ones, because I am number one on our list. If it turns out that it is necessary to send number two or number three, I don’t see any problem, I am ready to debate with them too, but let me say that there is number 2, number 3 and number 4 on our list too and they will not debate worse than I, I assure you.”
In response to our observation that Raffi Hovhannisyan invited every political force separately to debate too, Mr. Hovhannisyan said, “What shall we debate with him about? We are both leaders of opposition parties and I don’t think that our debate will contribute to the election
efficiency and fairness. We need the coalition, since the debate will be about the internal, economic and foreign policy carried out in the previous period, the one with whom you will debate about that policy should be someone who carried out that policy. Therefore, I think it is right to debate with the coalition.”
