Today www.aravot.am inquired from Ruben Hayrapetyan, the president of the Football Federation of Armenia, what he thought of the explosion of the DIY club and whether he supported those who had exploded or he supported the defenders of the club. He responded, “First of all, terrorism is always condemned by me and perceived as a bad thing. Certainly, I am against exploding, but I am all for punishing homosexuals and I am even ready to do that.”
Mr. Hakobyan doesn’t accept the option of blowing the club up as a means for punishing homosexuals and lesbians. In his words, “It is not the right way to punish. One should think of another way of punishing – to just eradicate them from this society. One can struggle against them in many ways.”
Ruben Hayrapetyan’s heart didn’t bear the information on a pluralism march, which is considered by many as а “gay parade,” organized in Yerevan. He grasped at his heart and said, “Please, you say such things that make me feel bad. I love this country and these people very much, you frightened me.”
