Pedro Agramunt (Spain, EPP/CD) and Joseph Debono Grech (Malta, SOC), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will visit the country from 12 to 14 June 2012, to further assess the honouring of its obligations and commitments to the Council of Europe, in particular as regards the administration of justice, religious tolerance and local and regional democracy.
In Baku, the co-rapporteurs are due to meet the Minister of Justice, the leaders of political parties represented in Parliament, the Chairman of the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General, the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, as well as representatives of religious communities.
In Guba, the co-rapporteurs will meet representatives of local authorities and NGOs.
