Heavy rain, hail and downpour that continued till 9:30 p.m. yesterday caused destruction in the village of Ajabaj, community of Nor Astghaberd, District of Kapan, region of Tavush.
In head of the community of Nor Astghaberd Surik Tevanyan’s words, there was a real flood in the village yesterday, the river of the village burst its banks, flooded roads, streets and caused destruction in the village. The harvest of the village was harmed because of the hail and heavy rain, the meadowlands were leveled, the pipelines were jammed, the drainage system was disrupted and the drinking water of the village became dirty. Thanks to filtration, they have managed to provide the village with drinkable water as clean as possible.
“The meadowlands have been leveled, the weather is rainy, if it goes on like this, the dry grass will rot and the villager will face a serious problem. No one has entered the meadowland so far, hasn’t managed to store grass. The amount of damage to the village will be examined and assessed by the commission on the spot,” Surik Tevanyan said.
It is raining in the village and the district of Kapan at the moment.
