Today, during a conversation with www.aravot.am, Hrant Bagratyan said regarding the accusation of dissipating loans, “That person tells me that Bagratyan took a loan and dissipated it, then he expresses a ridiculous idea, he says that he thinks that… so he doesn’t know whether I dissipated that loan or not. He just doesn’t think it is appropriate. You know what, deeming or not deeming appropriate doesn’t mean anything. The loan was taken by theRepublic ofArmenia and the National Assembly approved it. It turns out that the man gathers journalists and tells lies, libels. I think that there is punishment provided for that.”
In response to our question whether he was going to take concrete steps, he said, “No, it would be too much for him.”
Hrant Bagratyan suggested that Aram G. Sargsyan apologize also for the statement on selling pipes in thevillageofAzatan. Later on Aram G. Sargsyan informed that he didn’t know what pipes of Azatan it was about, he hadn’t said anything about it. As for the loan, he said that by 205 million he meant all 7 loans taken by the Cabinets that succeeded it, “If it was necessary to create jobs inArmenia, to ensure normal wages, to establish justice in the country, those loans should have been taken for that.” In response to our observation that he said that the loan had been dissipated, whereas he just deemed the loan inappropriate, he said, “To dissipate means to waste the loan not in the interests of theRepublicofArmenia. We had a task to first of all preserve our population, which has not been done. If we took a loan, the socio-economic condition would have been improved.”

As for Hrant Bagratyan’s observation that the loan had been taken by theRepublicofArmeniaand the National Assembly had approved, Aram Sargsyan said, “That is the best justification, because what are you the Prime Minister for? An ordinary man could say so, but doesn’t the Prime Minister have the right to understand what a loan is for? Then what are you the Prime Minister for, you should have sat in the parliament. If he doesn’t understand what dissipate means in Armenian, let me say that dissipate means that the loan has not been used in the interest of the Republic of Armenia; the country hasn’t undergone any development.”
