Eduard Sharmazanov Urges Journalists Not to Apply to the Ethics Commission With Regard to Mher Sedrakyan

December 19,2012 17:57

www.aravot.am asked the spokesman for the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Eduard Sharmazanov, today to comment on the incident between RPA MP Mher Sedrakyan and a journalist. His comment was, “I think that both journalists and my MP colleagues should be tolerant toward each other. I think that we can finish with all such events till the end of the year and start next year in a good mood. I think that there can be angry outbursts, but all of us should be tolerant toward each other.”

In response to our observation that the MP hadn’t even heard the question, what angry outburst could there be, he said: “Well, we are humans; every one of us has his own traits. Someone easily gets nervous, someone else doesn’t. I told you my opinion, let us just be tolerant toward each other and be understanding.”

In response to our question whether there were many people in the RPA who easily got nervous, whether there were many nervous people, he said that members of the RPA didn’t differ from the other people, “Journalists are our friends. I am your protector; tell me what problem you have.” We inquired whether he would join signatories, if journalists applied to the Ethics Commission, he said: “I think I have proved in the past years that I am a protector of human dignity and universal values. I would urge you not to apply to the Ethics Commission, but to sit down and have a man-to-man discussion on all issues. I think Mher Sedrakyan is a person with whom one can have a man-to-man discussion.”
