www.aravot.am asked Nikol Pashinyan, a member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) parliamentary group, today to comment on the current situation in the ANC, when Hrant Bagratyan was going to announce his candidacy, his and Bagratyan’s position differed from that of the other wing of the Congress, we asked him to comment also on the blows of Congress members struck against Nikol Pashinyan on social networks. Besides, Ashot Manucharyan, a former member of the Karabakh Committee, had said to www.galatv.am
that there was only a brawl about trough in the ANC. In response to our question how he would explain all this, and whether he agreed with Ashot Manucharyan, he said: “I will avoid making any comments today. I will avoid making comments also on what Ashot Manucharyan said. I don’t want to say anything. I will not comment on Hrant Bagrayan’s nomination for the moment.” In response to our question whether it was possible that he would announce his candidacy, after all, Nikol Pashinyan said flatly: “No, it is not possible. I am just surprised at that question. I have been saying for 6 months that I am not going to announce my candidacy and have no wish to announce my candidacy for the presidential election. I stated about that officially.”
In response to our question whether he had made a decision to endorse Hrant Bagratyan, he said: “I expressed a very clear position on that; while Levon Ter-Petrossian’s decision on announcing or not announcing his candidacy is not known, I don’t want to make any comments on that subject. Moreover, I want to stress that now, for the moment, I don’t make any comments, but it doesn’t mean that I will never talk about that issue. It is just that the current situation is such that I don’t want to do that. Basically everything is said; not everything, many things are said, many things are known. There are many opinions. Now is the time to make certain decisions. I have said about me what I wanted to say. Next time, when there is a need for saying something new, I will certainly talk about that.”
