Ruben Apinyan, a judge of the trial court of the Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts, Yerevan, made public the decision on the lawsuit filed by Razmik Abrahamyan, 71, convicted to 9 years in prison against the daily newspapers Aravot and The Armenian Times. He sued the newspapers and demanded 2 million-dram compensation for damaging his honor, dignity, and business reputation. Let us remind that nine years ago, on September 20, an article entitled “Will Pedophile Be Put in Prison for 2 Years?” in which we talked about the charges laid against him was published in Aravot. He had sexually abused boys under 16 years of age, while working as a teacher in educational institutions. The court made public the concluding part of the decision. The pedophile’s lawsuit was completely rejected. He will pay 80 000 AMD, as an unpaid duty, to the government.
