About the importance of words

June 15,2013 15:57

Nairi Hunanyan, while carrying out his terroristic act, pronounced words that all oppositions repeat before and after it, and citizens who are unhappy with the life repeated after them: “you sucked the blood of people”, “because of you the elections did not take place” and so on. Actually, one should not have light approach to the word, these are codes that help to establish stereotypes of mind. I continue insisting that they very professional people were working on the same Nairi Hunanyan who using the infinite self-admiration of main player “programmed” him to commit a crime, persuaded him that thus he “will save the nation”. Moreover, this work was done in such a way that the terrorist leader, possibly, was not aware of that he was “programmed”.

Now there are also words that, one way or another, orientate people. For example, one of my warrior friends, I think, fairly complains as to ‘we fought so much to call the liberated state a Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, why not a Republic of Artsakh’. Exclusion of outdated, foreign toponym changes something in the way of thinking. We do not say, don’t we, Erivan (with soft ‘n’), Tiflis, or, let’s say, Orjonikidze. In the latter case, the Russians returned the proud name of Vladikavkaz that reminds everyone what the Empire owns.

The same is about robbing, blood sucking and election frauds, as well as getting the suitcases and immigrating. The fact that it exists, no one denies. But constantly repeating such phrases, the distinguished opposition and the commentators conducting a campaign awaken a fatalistic mood among their electorates, a psychology of a loser with a logic of “who is the donkey, we are the packsaddle”. It is desirable that along with talks about the “robbery” (whom, by the way, the government oriented parties joined to), our political and social elite also speaks about some positive values.

I realize that this is a complicated issue. “Giving a tone” to grouchy rumors is much more profitable. But after pronouncing the words like “patriotism”, “devotion to work”, “knowledge” there is a concern that one will say: “hey, bro, what do you pursue?, are you naïve?, or you think we are naive?, this is a country of robbery, racketeering and thief”. And people standing by will definitely add stiffer expressions. To oppose the “choir” of losers sometimes is more difficult than singing ‘abreast with people’.
