RA NA Deputy Speaker, Spokesman of the Republican Party Edward Sharmazanov considers primitive and groundless all the analyzes saying that the President of the neighboring country Ilham Aliyev was more successful than Serzh Sargsyan, because the President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited this country before the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, and before the presidential elections in Armenia, rumors were constantly spreading regarding the visit of the President of Russia to Armenia, but it never took place.
“Unlike Azerbaijan, the relations between RF and Armenia are more profound and federal rather than market. But do not rule out that the leadership of Azerbaijan will be using the visit of the President of Russia for internal political purposes”, – said Ed. Sharmazanov, in the conversation with Aravot.am.
As a ruling party representative, Mr. Sharmazanov takes the visit of the Head of Armenia’s strategic partner normal. “This is not the first time, they are neighboring countries, border countries, there are a lot of questions, Caspian, regional, economic, and the analysis that were heard from the lips of experts and analysts regarding this visit are a bit primitive. We should not be surprised at this visit. The relationships between Armenia and Russian does not depend on this visit, they are developing dynamically and profoundly, and do not have market or pre-election PR significance.”
To the question about the situation, in which Armenia appears now, European or Eurasian Union, what “messages” this visit contain for Armenia, especially when our fellow citizens also suffer from the struggle started against migrant in Russia, our interlocutor said that in his opinion Armenia is not facing a dilemma. “Armenia has made its choice on September 21, 1991, saying “yes” to the independence. Armenia is an independent state, which pursues a policy based solely on the public interest. Today, the interest of the state requires us to deepen our federal interests with Russia, and at the same time deepen our relationship with our European partners.”
