Lyova Khachatryan. “They have nothing to do but to bring donkeys to the protest.”

November 13,2013 17:58

“It makes two coins of foal from four coins of donkeys; they have nothing else but donkeys to bring to the demonstration site,” said PAP MP Lyova Khachatryan, today, at the National Assembly, answering the questions of Aravot.am, recalling the well-known proverb “If a man is not a donkey, the donkey would cost a thousand.” The matter was about the protest organized recently in the center of Yerevan by “Save the Indoor Market from oligarchs” initiative, which was also attended by donkeys in yellow caps. “Instead of leaving this animal to go to work, and fill in the budget, develop the economy, raise the salary, they have brought them to another, not specific task for them… that’s why the country is not becoming a country, if none of us does not mind its own business. The donkey hold a protest, a man is doing a donkey job, a man changes its gender, and I don’t know what…, what’s going on, this is not the world to happen,” MP continued his indignation. Reversing our uncertainty whether the donkeys were supposed to fill in the state budget, he said, “The donkey should plough, sow, transport load, instead, they have brought them to the protest, making them protest.” We were interested to know whether he was connected with bringing up the donkeys to the protest as Samvel Aleksanyan had said that the donkeys were provided by Lyova Khachatryan, he said “I mind my own business. Donkeys should not be brought into this process. They were playing a play, let them elect those and bring to the theater who were humiliating the donkeys by bringing them here”. Considering Lyova Khachaturian’s warm attitude towards donkeys, we asked whether he was not offended that the donkey were brought to the protest action, MP said, “I’m not offended, it is not offensive. Simply, the animal should not be humiliated, and the man should not go down to the animal level. If the animal has no tongue to blaspheme, or complain, it does not mean that the animal, any animal, must be treated the way you would like to.”
