In the conversation with Aravot.am, Raffi Movsisyan referred to Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac” film, and, in particular, to the fact that the film is criticized by various strata of society without watching it, everyone, regardless of profession, position say that the public should not have it. To the observation of whether the cinema house, which was to be showing the film, had the right to determine whether or not it was necessary to the public, and whether anyone had the right to assume the role of a censor, said Raffi Movsisyan. “I am in favor of non-existence of absolute and explicit porno-watching, but as for this film, which is estimated without watching it, is absolutely unacceptable to me, and it occurs when it is not obvious said of who were these viewer and who decided that it should not be shown and cast the blame on a specific layer of the society, which is outrageous. If there are particular individuals, who make the decision, their names should be given. Cinema house has the right not to show the film, since it is a private company. The matter is in the pathological attitude the some X people have decided to do that kind of thing.” Raffi Movsisyan believes that the most democratic decision would be to have limited view, according to him, for example, in Belarus, it is shown in a small cinema hall, people, who want, go and watch, and thus the entry of underage is controlled. To the observation whether the situation created did not lead to more interest in people, Raffi Movsisyan said, “I think, yes, because thus a lot of people will try to find its online version, and watch it. If something is forbidden, it should be done in a way to avoid extra talks about it, but in this case there was a major marketing failure, because questions arise as to who these prohibiting people are, etc., which generate more interest. In other words, if you did not want to show it, you shouldn’t have announced about it in general, and there would be no need to justify. And, today, we all have left everything behind and are pursuing Lars von Trier, as if there are no other important problems in the society, right in the field of cinema.”
