During the latest discussions about the establishment of March 1 Committee, there were several references made to the report of the fact-finding team, which was related to illegally armed groups, and in particular the list, according to which, Gagik Tsarukyan, Samvel Aleksanyan, Suren Khachatryan and 6 other persons were delivered outfits from the Ministry of Defense Equipment storage. To this respect, the main speaker, the ANC faction MP Gagik Jhangiryan said, “It’s not me saying it, it is an approved fact, however, these facts need to be checked. There were also other information that the list also contained the names of some people but they were removed.” At the request of “Aravot”, referring to that quite transparent hint, Andranik Kocharyan, the then an ANC representative in the fact-finding team, and now the Head of the Center for Democracy, Security and Development, said, “I think that the main speaker was to have courage to publicize his information completely.
So as I once was publishing all the information, I have worked within the public fact-finding team. And, today, I am also expecting such an approach from any figure, who is coming up with similar hints.” Given the other news published with this regard, we clarified whether it is not apparent that the hint was referring to his and Ruben Hayrapetyan’s friendship. “No, replied Andranik Kocharyan, I have been a member of the fact-finding team and I was always talking based on specific facts. I would like them to speak not in a language of hints rather than those dropping a hint talk with facts, so that I can also answer them with facts. Once, I also tried to conduct a similar experience, and I explained that the mechanism that we have received this information, any member of the fact-finding team was simply unable to make any changes in the list because it was received through the Armenian National Congress coordinator Levon Zurabyan.
Thus, if any changes were made, let the hinting person go and look for in another place.” During the NA discussions, Gurgen Arsenyan, a member of the NA Ad-Hoc Committee studying the events taken place once on March 1-2 in Yerevan and the causes thereof, and now PAP MP, made quite interesting speech on the same issue. Although the Ministry of Defense at that time hindered checking the accuracy of the information regarding the list, the commodity flow in the storage, now, Mr. Arsenyan referring to his narrow professional qualification of “Logistics Management”, revealed that even under rejection he had conducted a comparative handwriting examination and accordingly he asserted, “The Ministry of Defense has not participated in these operations.” Andranik Kocharyan said in this regard, “I would just advise Gurgen Arsenyan to make comments on the tobacco storages rather than about the mode of life of the military system of the Ministry of Defense, because he obviously does not know anything about it. And as for the information that the fact-finding team was disposing, a part of it covered in the report, the other part consists of operative materials that contain quite a large information, which are not accessible to Gurgen Arsenyan. They are contained in the audio records of the fact-finding team. And if the investigating body wants to check them, it should just try to re-examine not only the report, but the information that has been left out of the report, and which reached the investigating body within the fact-finding team. Hence, I admit that Mr. Arsenyan has great skills in the supply sector; however, I am sorry, it is absolutely not related to the army.” We also inquired of how he treats the fact, which later was testified by Gurgen Arsenyan in his interview to 1in.am when he had asserted that such a thing had not happened at the MoD rear service units. “All ANC representatives were moving their heads in this way (showing a positive nodding). In other words, they agreed with me.” Andranik Kocharyan replied, “I am sorry, but the ANC representatives’ today’s movements of heads do not contain any factual material in them, because, actually, today’s ANC representatives can positively move their heads about counterarguments, too.”
