The first president of Armenia has many advantages over many politicians. However, one of the most important features for me is the organized mind, and, as a result, the organized and logical speech. His last interview is the bright proof of it. (In fact, I should mention, even in the case of Levon Ter-Petrosyan, such speech can only be in writing). Here, he expresses his opinion on what the opposition should do. Let’s pay attention to this specific case where he uses the the word “opposition”, a term that is much more clear and is internationally accepted, rather than the blurring phrase of “non- governmental forces”.
And so, “the opposition either should raise the issue of Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation through all-day rallies, or by choosing the interim and softer option for change of power, on the days of parliamentary debates, again under the pressure of all-day rallies, should wreck the adoption of the new government program, and force Serzh Sargsyan, according to the Constitution, to dissolve the parliament and hold extraordinary parliamentary elections.”
The remaining three forces have two options of answer to this clearly formulated proposal, a/ yes, we are ready to hold all-day rallies requesting the President’s resignation, or with the agenda to fail any program of any government, b/ no, we are not ready to do it. Followed by the first option, the parties will approve the ANC’s position that it is absolutely not important who the prime minister is, what program he represents, and what policy he conducts. Only one thing matters that the office of the president is assumed not by Serzh Sargsyan, but another person.
One can agree or disagree with this position of the first president, it can be argued whether his plan is feasible or not. However, his question is made clear and requires a definite answer. In the coming days, we, the journalists, will try to “catch” the representatives of three political forces and ask, “yes?”, or “no?” But, let us assume that they will find hundreds of answers to refrain from answering “yes” or “no”.

To the question of Aravot that the PAP and ARF have said that they would not be against forming a coalition with the government, what the leader of “Heritage” party thinks about this statement, given that they are also a part of the quartet, Raffi Hovannisian replied that it’s time to change the name of the quartet. “At the moment, there is a very constructive edifying constructive cooperation, there is no quartet, nor triplet.” One means of “changing the subject”.
