The approaches of other political forces composing a part of the quartet and the requirements from the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan was not a surprise for ANC. We asked the ANC member Vahagn Khachatryan whether he considers the cooperation with political forces normal, whose agenda items and approaches significantly differ from their agenda items. Recall that both the ARF and PAP did not rule out the possibility of forming a part of coalition and are waiting for the RA President’s recommendations. Note also that the issue of Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation is not found in ARF’s and PAP’s agenda. “Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation was always on our agenda, our approach has always been so.
The approaches of our partners on this issue have been different. But we do not see a problem with cooperation with these forces,” said Mr. Khachatryan. To our question of whether the cooperation with the Quartet was not senseless if they had different requirements from the authorities, Mr. Khachatryan replied, no, “the activities of the Quartet gave the situation that we have now. And it is not only the prime minister’s resignation, moreover, the fact that the system exhausted itself, the current system should leave. The government should leave. PAP has never ruled out anything, including the issue of Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation.” To our observation that PAP MP Stepan Margaryan assured that the items on demanding Serzh Sargsyan’s resignation was not included in their agenda, Vahagn Khachatryan responded, “At this point, this item is not in the agenda, but tomorrow it could be included.” To our question of what do not you think that the PAP took the advantage of the formation of the Quartet to achieve its goal by becoming a part of the government, he replied, “They can take the advantage, so what? Everyone can take the advantage based on the situation.”
