The Law of “90 percent”

May 29,2014 13:17

Different political and public circles are publishing figures from time to time, where it always appears with “90 percent”. We do not believe in professional sociological surveys, as they always predicted a crushing victory for ruling parties and chairpersons-in-office, while the empiric reality shows that the number of their supporters in Armenia over the past 22 years does not amount to the majority.

Since the scientific sociology is not respected in us, we treat other “household” sociologists in the same way, like the game for children, “I Doubt It.” Well, I will try playing this game and make a little comment on why I believe.

Ninety percent of Armenians against are against the speedometers. I believe. Because this 90 percent wants to drive their cars 100 km per hour and avoid being fined. The speedometers are breaking their “kef” of driving fast, therefore, more than 90 percent of the people having heroic tendencies, one might say, the devotees, are breaking the speedometers.

Ninety percent of people engaged in small business are against being tax-free for complete transparency. I believe. Because due to “intransparency”, they make more money than they will save when they are tax-free.

Ninety percent of Armenians are unhappy with their social status. I believe. People say, give me a job, I will keep myself busy and make a fortune. They do not know that nowadays they should not wait until someone supports them with job, rather than they should create and initiate this job. Although even when supported, people do not always agree to work. A real story from the disaster zone. A man asked my acquaintance to help him with the job. My acquaintance promoted and he was invited to work. But this person who was complaining of the life refused, because in that case he would be deprived of receiving his allowance, which he combines with “black horseshoe” paid and not registered “light work”. Although the allowance and the “black horseshoe” together are twice less than the salary offered.

Ninety percent of Armenians is in favor of our country’s accession to the Customs Union. Well, I do not believe it a little. I think that the percentage is actually 95. Over 250 years, people’s brains are washed so that the number of people denying the Customs Union has truly become marginal.

Ninety percent of readers of this article do not agree with me.
