Announces the SDHP Chairman Narek Galstyan
SDHP Chairman, Narek Galastyan, in the conversation with “Aravot”, in response to the question of whether the Hunchak Party governing body in Beirut had decided to move the central office of the party to Armenia, and whether the rumors are true that Hunchak members are intended to be settle down in Yerevan and start their political activities, commented as follows, “First, let me say that Hunchak political party is involved in active political activities, and has always been so. In addition, Hunchak party has made such a decision not in Beirut, but in its last two congresses, there was a decision to make the Party and an Armenia-based, in other words, to mote the central office to Armenia. They are on the way to implementation of this decision, and I think that in the coming weeks, the media and the public will be properly informed about all decisions of the party in more detail.”
To the next question that the rumors that it makes no sense to have an Armenian political party in diaspora anymore, and instead, the Hunchak had decided to act from pro-government positions, Narek Galstyan replied, “It is from the series of nonsenses that Hunchaks had decided to run a pro-government activities, or that it is considered senseless to have an office outside. Hunchak party is an all-around diaspora structure with all its branches. It is a centripetal structure, and continues and will continue its distinct political activities in Diaspora. Hunchak party’s Armenian office has its clear position, and it is repeatedly said that it has a clear oppositional position, and such decisions are generally made in congresses.”
To the observation of what essential influence the SDHP may have in the political processes of Armenia in case of being moved to Armenia, Narek Galstyan said, “Let’s wait and see.” Then added that in the future, the Chairman of the Central office of Hunchak Party and its member will inform all about it is detail, especially when the fulfillment of their decisions is not “behind seven mountains”.
