“…Being the king of clowns, he has never been the clown of kings. Also, he had a supernatural gift. In his presence, everyone was feeling itself genius. I guess because the ones who truly love him was never offended. When someone could not stand his masquerade”pace”, he could not stand the pressure of his wit, humor, and kindness. His kindness had no limits,” these words from Garry Kuntsev’s book “Once Upon a Time there Was Parajanov”, today, found their place at the “Dalan” show-room during the exhibition Armenian film director Sergei Parajanov’s photo.
Sergei Parajanov’s photo exhibition, as said by the organizer of the exhibition and Art PR Company Director Gayane Davtyan in the conversation with Aravot.am, is dedicated to the film director’s 90th anniversary. Gayane Davtyan told us that the exhibited photos belong to the Ukrainian cameraman and photographer Yuri Garmash, who photographed Sergei Parajanov in the 1970s. The exhibited photos will also be sold, and the revenue from the sale will go to the underage at the “Abovyan” penitentiary facility who create and paint. “Parajanov himself was in detention facility, and did not have the opportunity to create, therefore, the sale of the exhibition photos is symbolic. Parajanov has created his collages, when he had nothing in the detention facility. And maybe after this exhibition, the youth in the detention facility will disclose their talents too,” said our interlocutor.
