Tsarukyan’s phenomenon – 2

December 02,2014 17:09

Last time, we tried to understand politician Gagik Tsarukyan’s secret of success, but we failed, to be more precise, we were unable because it was not only difficult to understand Gagik Tsarukyan’s and his PAP political progress, but also to understand it. Because Gagik Tsarukyan does not have his parallel and the precedent in independent Armenia’s political life. Last time, we tried the make parallels between him and Tigran Karapetich, but we immediately felt that it is an unsuccessful and not correct comparison, though, nevertheless, there are edges of comparison and these edges are primarily connected with significance and importance of charity in politics, and the political charity in general.

In these few years, PAP and personally Tsarukyan made such a progress that definitely they would complain knowing that someone had dared to compare them with Tigran Karapetich and his late People’s Party. However, no matter we disagree, it is a fact that there are continuers of what Karapetich launched. Moreover, more conscious and more massive continuers.

However, Tsarukyan, unlike Karapetich, does not become wicked against this-or-that person with frowned eyebrows, does not mock this-or-that person and does not swagger. On the contrary. He does not speak against anyone specific, and in that sense, he is more like who? Don’t be surprised if I say. Of course, Raffi Hovannisian. The latter also does not speak against specific persons. Moreover, he continuously announces and emphasizes that their struggle is not against specific individuals, but for the sake of the idea and the welfare of the Armenian people.

In fact, he also promises a prosperous Armenia, but with an accent and emphasis of a Diaspora, and since the accent of the Diaspora especially in the political and national issues is more understandable, our electorates granted quite a large number of votes to Raffi Hovannisian at the last presidential elections, and although Raffi Hovannisian failed to dispose the votes, the votes actually existed and they were true, and the majority of these votes, apparently, were to go to Ter-Petrosyan and Tsarukyan, who have not nominated their candidacy for the recent presidential elections, and as to why they did not do it, it is known only to them, and I say “to them”, because prior to the last presidential elections, Ter-Petrosyan and Tsarukyan were already political supporters and allies. As to what and how happened that these two, all of a sudden, became political allies, it is known only to them. For us, mere mortals, it is so far unclear the original motive and goal of such inexplicable and indecipherable alliance between these two people, but the point that in these recent years of political analysis, ANC had made more courtesy towards the PAP (rather than vice versa) is quite obvious, and if some observers associate this circumstance with financial conditions and problems is quite clear and understandable. But apart from financial, there are also other issues, and number one of them is the acceptance of Gagik Tsarukyan by everybody, as well as the entire security and safety associated with this character.

Tsarukyan like the younger Demirchyan, continuously emphasizes that they will reach their goal by constitutional means, and like Raffi Hovannisian, says and repeats that they do not have personal hostility against anyone and have no problems, and although our people was once disappointed of younger Demirchyan and Raffi Hovannisian, seems to believing Tsarukyan. So far, they seem to believing. And as to why they believe, it is difficult to understand, moreover to explain. However, both, understanding and being explained is desirable, especially when we are on the eve of the New Year, and it is not desirable to begin the new year with being so unclear.
