Soon, the Parliament will vote on the EaEU Treaty. In the conversation with Aravot.am, RPA MP Karine Achemyan urged people not to fall into extremes and mislead people that we are returning to the times of “Eau de Cologne” or “Krasnaya Moskva”. He said, “When we see what is going on in the world, what global rearrangements happen, what crisis occur, Russia and European countries are facing great dangers, and we so diminish the problem.”
Note that in one of the sessions, Nikole Pashinyan expressed a concern, saying, “Now, what? Are women going to use “Eau de Cologne” or a cucumber perfume? Karine Atchemyan observes, “We all feel the presence of the danger, we feel that the next wave of the crisis is coming. I personally am a very freedom-loving person and I am for all kinds of freedoms, including those of human rights, but when you’re a small country and we see that countries are united to solve a problem, in this case, it is not appropriate to associate one with the other. I do not think we in case of joining the EaEU endanger us. If we close our eyes to all good things, forget the positive and focus only on the negative, in any case, we would find these points. But we need to benefit from this EaEU integration. I consider our unification to the EaEU under these political and geopolitical events positive.”
Yesterday, Republican Party MP Hayk Babukhanyan, said during the session, “We do not want perverted Conchitas. Is Europe only Conchitas? If so, why we were negotiating on Association Agreement for 4 years, Karine Achemyan replied, “This is also an extremism, I am always against all kinds of extremism, because Europe is not only Conchita. Europe is the universal values, the freedoms, which we visualize. The line, which we led with Europe, we have brought our legislative field to the European, we have no right to speak badly about European values, or put obstacles for integration with Europe. It is not apt to any civilized country.”
