Pre-parliament sued RPA faction secretary Gagik Melikyan for defamation Republican faction, as the latter had said that this organization organized the automobile march by the Turkish-Azerbaijani money. The parliamentarian said that if the Pre-parliament submits a reference from the Turkish and Azerbaijani special services saying that the latter had not funded this structure, Gagik Melikyan, himself, would apologize. Even the high school students need to know that if I accuse someone in committing a crime, then I should be the one to prove his guilt rather than my opponent of his innocence. The member of supreme legislative body, who should explain and teach us what is meant by the presumption of innocence, is asking for a reference of not being a criminal.
Again, the matter of knowledge and outlook is raised, which recently has become topical. Now, we can surely say that after the 2017 elections, we are going to have “this quality” of parliamentarians, no matter how many votes each party will collect. If the opposition wants to carry out a regime change by understanding systemic changes under it, then it should be ready for the 2022 parliamentary elections.
There is no sarcasm in my words. At this time, it is late to think about getting ready for the next elections. Another several years are lost on unproductive and senseless waste of time about “immediate resignation” and “extraordinary elections” that are repeated for decades. Repeating traditional mantras of “revolution”, “migration”, “plunder”, “run out of patience”, “criminal regime” and “nation-wide movement” and thinking that people’s lives will become better by the correct arrangement of these words (using my friend Artak Kirakosyan’s thought), the politicians contribute to disappointment and stagnation. “People’s revolt” certainly can happen, but only in the “Yerevan Mall”.
Hence, I am quite serious about the need to be prepared for the 2022 elections. Two years is not much for it, in two years the above-described “repertoire” can be repeated and once again be where they started, the fact of having the majority of Gagik Melkonyan’s level. In seven years, it is possible to establish a strong opposition. I reply on educated and developed youth in various political parties and NGOs. As to what these young people should do, I approximately have an idea. But, this is a subject for another consideration.
