“The Beautified Project” rock band’s founder and lead singer Andre Simonyan said to “Aravot.am” that he was very grateful to the “System of a down” that it introduced the European music lovers to Armenia. “System of a down” first came to London in November of 1998, I was a student, and then the group`s largest contribution was the word “Armenia” that sounded in the song.
-“My friends who are listening to rock, used to ask whether it was Albania or Romania, but the “System of a down” so truly introduced Armenia and the Armenian history, that first of all I thank this group for pointing Armenia on the map of music”.
According to Andre Simonyan the “System of a down`s” work in the matter of the Armenian Genocide recognition is much appreciated.
-“Many people who even did not know where Armenia was, perceived and learned that there is Armenia and what unhappiness happened with the Armenians 100 years ago. I hope that many more Armenians will be able to express it by their art as did Arshil Gorky years ago. It is better to do this way than to burn flags or to sow hatred among the people. We cannot hate a whole nation, there are many people among the Turks that love Armenians, and there are good scientists as well.

Andre Simonyan said that good music has always been appreciated in Armenia.
– “And when people say ”rabiz” is demanded, I do not accept that because anything performed correctly will be accepted and will be loved by people”.
The musician said that he will go to the concert, but he must find such a place to stand from where he would be able to enjoy it.
– “When I was at Serj Tankyan concert, so many people were coming up to me and asking to have a photo that I could not enjoy the concert. But this time I will stand afar with my friends so that to enjoy the concert.”
