Ahead of the European Partnership Summit in Riga, a teleconference attended by an EU senior official was held in Armenia, in the office of the European Union Delegation. The meeting was held with the participation of member-countries, including Azerbaijan. Using the platform once again, they again raised the issue of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. While, the EU official rushed to conclude the topic announcing that the conflict settlement has one format – the format of the Minsk Group. Among the topics of discussion – the Moldova banking crisis, the Crimea – the issues on taking the human right activists and the journalist in custody in Azerbaijan were also raised. In particular, a question was raised on how the EU treats the imprisonment of the journalist Khadija Ismayilova in Azerbaijan. The EU senior official condemned the incident and stressed that the issue of protecting human rights and freedom of the press is an EU priority.
