A while ago, a press release from the presidential office was released saying that the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, today, accepting the delegation headed by the Chairman of Economic Partnership Intergovernmental Committee on Russian Affairs between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation, also the RF Minister of Transport, Maxim Sokolov, has expressed his gratitude to the Russian side for the decision on the transfer of the case of the murder of the Avetisyans family to the Armenian Investigation Committee for proceeding. We also learned from the press release that the further investigation will be conducted by Armenia’s relevant instances.
In an interview with Aravot.am, the murdered landlady Hasmik Avetisyan’s sister, Rita Petrosyan, said that they were planning to hold a press conference and a protest action in Gyumri, on July 2, on the birthday of little Seryozha, when he would be 1-year-old. However, a while ago, learning that the murder case was transferred to the Armenian side, changed their mind. “Our lawyer, Lusine Sahakyan, called us, notifying about it, although there is nothing to rejoice, but we somehow got consoled that finally our lawyers will be able to learn exact information about this case, to learn what was investigated up to date, as far as I know the Russia side is going to handover what has been investigated and it will be combined with the Armenian side. It was good that the case passed to the Armenian side, at least we would be informed whether Permyakov is the murderer and if so, whether he was alone or not…
Our lawyers, being professional, were looking into the hands of the Russians, and the Russian side examining the case was not providing any information. Now, when the case has been transferred to the hands of the Armenians, I think the answers to our concerned questions would be clear to the lawyers and the entire public. At least, I hope so. I am sure that they handed the case over to the Armenian side because of the fear by the society and they did it under the public pressure. Do you know what I also think? Recently, when a Russian soldier was killed in the territory of Armenia by his fellow servant, even though the murder was not committed in the area of the Russian military base, but the Armenian side decided to handover this case to the Russians, and perhaps the Russian side felt pangs of conscience and thought about handing over this case to the Armenian side … I do not know what else I can say … As for building a wall by the neighbors of the Avetisyan family, who allegedly are making their walls longer to be protected against attacks, I think the walls will not save them either. Do they know that the cry of the murdered children will come out of their minds…?”
