Yesterday, the Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan’s behavior in the Baghramyan Avenue has become a hot topic of discussion on the Internet. His shouting, constantly saying a time, constantly yelling at the citizens and the journalists, “I am Vova Gasparyan” is in the center of the Facebook discussions.
In this respect, in the interview with Aravot.am, NA MP Nikol Pashinyan said, “The police, especially the police chief, should remember at every step that he has no right to be in the emotional state. We need to understand that the police are the enormous part of the armed forces, and every wrongly issued command can play a role with the lives of hundreds of people. It is not acceptable for me that the police chief can be in such an emotional state, moreover, to demonstrate this emotional state both to the public and the police. If Mr. Gasparyan has difficulty to temper himself, then he should think about solving this issue, let his go on vacation and resign. He has no right to be the chief of the police being in such an emotional states. Do you understand what it means and how dangerous this person is that has such powers and let’s say, may lose his control and do something that might have fatal consequences for hundreds and thousands of people, even for the state and the statehood?”
To our observation that the police chief was also yelling on your colleague, RoL Party MP Hovhannes Margaryan, and was talking boastfully, Nikol Pashinyan replied, “It does not matter with whom, but the police chief has no right to be in such an emotional state, especially in dealing with the public in such an emotional state, giving commands and orders. This is simply unacceptable. Thanks to God, yesterday, this situation did not have manifestations, but yesterday we saw what huge efforts were required to soften the tension somehow.” Was it due to the live wall that yesterday the police that was constantly saying a time to the protesters and setting a deadline, eventually the forces were decentralized and the tension was reduced? Nikol Pashinyan replied, “What happened was a live broadcast in front of everyone. Everyone can give its assessment. I am glad that the situation is not getting from bad to worse but weakened. As to due to whom it was reduced, it does not matter.”
