The opera diva, recently recognized a “persona non grata” by the neighboring republic, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, who first time visited Shushi in 2014 to attend as a spectator the premiere of the opera “Ring of Fire” staged by Avet Avetyan dedicated to the Artsakh’s Independence Day, was recently in Artsakh to conduct master classes. In the interview with “Aravot”, Ms. Kazarnovskaya informed that during this visit, the preparatory work has been done in the early fall to play Verdi’s “Requiem” in the main square of Stepanakert, in her words, with the international staff of musicians. She also said that though she had a brief conversation with Gegham Grigoryan, the artistic director of the Yerevan Opera House, her old friend and one of the best tenors of our time, about the upcoming plans to give a new breath to the opera art. As for the “persona non grata” “title,” Lyubov Kazarnovskaya said with her typical cheerfulness that in this sense it is a pleasure to be in the list of the foreign true celebrities, including the world famous Montserrat Caballé.
