Chairman of International Humanitarian Development NGO, Arman Ghukasyan, when presenting their scientific research work on civil society, announced a state-level control should be conducted over the non-government organizations. He has said that there are dozens of organizations that are funded by the US and the EU and are willing to carry out a revolution in Armenia. One of these NGOs was the Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office.
Aravot.am spoke to the Chairman of Helsinki Citizens Assembly Vanadzor Office, Arthur Sakunts. The latter has said that he does not take “The International Humanitarian Development” NGO seriously. “The organization backing them up us much more serious, which being a Russian company, also in my subjective opinion, is the representative of the Russian state structure, the FSB.” Aravot.am talked on this to Arman Ghukasyan. “It is a surprising fact that if the citizens of the Republic of Armenia are against the activities of NGOs that receive grants from Europe, the West, and the United States and are doing business, which in our subjective opinion, does not benefit to our values and the value system and are not to the benefit of our country, in our subjective opinion, these citizens are considered FSB agents, or backed up by some force structures. This certainly is surprising to me,” he said.
Arman Ghukasyan emphasized that Arthur Sakunts has confirmed the findings of their research noting that if he has the chance, he would definitely do a color revolution. “I can understand from his words that the findings of our survey are pretty accurate. I would like to express my thanks for being honest.” According to him, it is also surprising that they have not mentioned the words like Russia and Russian interests and have spoken exclusively about the interests of the Republic of Armenia. “We are saying, we do not accept it and have only conducted a survey. And our colleagues fighting by the principle of tolerant democracy are immediately stating that since we are against the European values, then we stand for the Russian values or support Russia. No Russia word was used in our speech, we have not said anything like that at all, and generally we do not understand the interpretations that are taking place, and I already do not want to interpret all of it.”

Arman Ghukasyan added that their work will be ongoing. “We will do everything for the organizations, I am not mentioning any organization, that are ready to implement a color revolution in Armenia, if possible, do not exist in our country. And the National Security should deal with it in order to understand why these grants are arriving, and eventually, what goal do they pursue in our country that such grants are arriving.”
