On October 3, the National Chamber Choir of Armenia (artistic director and principal conductor Robert Mlkeyan) will perform in Greece, in one of Europe’s best concert halls – Megaron. The concert is included in the event-list dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Aravot.am learned about this from the Director of Armenia’s National Chamber Choir, Armen Arabyan. Mr. Arabyan informed that program, among other works, includes Shnike, Schubert and Mlkeyan’s jazz arrangements, Komitas, and David Haladjian. “The Megaron in Athens is already a standards benchmark and a great reputation for us. The concert is supported by the Embassy of Greece to Armenia, but the organizers are from Greece. By the way, Megaron does not agree to host musicians unless it examines them from head to toes,” said the choir director.
Armen Arabyan added that they have also organized two concerts in Thessaloniki for the Armenian Community on October, and for the Greek community – on 5 October. “It’s very important for us to make our choral art audible to a broader audience,” says our interlocutor.
