Law enforcement sources reported that 4-5 days ago, police officers of Bagratashen department, Noyemberyan region, detained Gevorg Sargsyan (known by the nickname “jungle”), his cousin Sargis Ghukasyan and a citizen of Syria Muhak Arabani suspected in fake US 100 dollars bill used at the Bagratashen checkpoint and Bagratashen village. Sargis Ghukasyan is arrested, the other two are released as their guilt is not proven at this point. S. Ghukasyan was charged under the Criminal Code, Article 202 (“Manufacture, sale or keeping of counterfeited money or securities”).
According to our sources, he has spent 4 counterfeited USD 100 bills at Bagratashen, 7 more counterfeited US 100 dollar bills were identified during the search. To add that Gevorg Sargsyan (the “jungle”) arrested for the death of Artsakh war veteran 52-year-old Vardan Tumanyan after being severely beaten in Nor-Nork district of Yerevan on 15 July 2014, and Sargis Ghukasyan were released several months later. They are charged under the Criminal Code, Article 113 of and under Article 2, paragraph 3 (“Infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health committed by a group of persons or by an organized group”). The trial kicked off in Avan and Nor Nork administrative district court of Yerevan city on June 12, 2015.
