What is the position of the French Government on deepening of Armenia-Iran economic, political and military ties with regard to the opportunities to expand Armenian-Iranian cooperation in the energy sector?
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia, Jean-François Charpentier, in his exclusive interview with “Aravot”, referring to the aforementioned question, noted, “Lifting of the sanctions against Iran is an excellent news for Armenia. From the economic perspective, this provides favorable opportunities for Armenia as well as for France. As a transit country between Iran, western and EaEU member countries, Armenia has good triumph card.
Therefore, it is important to develop communication infrastructures between the two countries. From the med-term perspective, the cooperation in the energy sector has a great potential. Indeed, the diversification of economic partners generates from the interests of Armenia. All that is aimed at strengthening the regional integration, be it a political system, trade or cooperation, is on the right track.”
