If Artsakh had not organized an armed self-defense once, its population would experience the same what happened a few days ago with the Talish village residents. To expect another attitude from Azerbaijan is the same as to wait for the assaults of the “Islamic State” that they will be compassionate to the Christians, the Kurds, Yezidi and Shiites. Or to expect from the Young Turk government that they spare Armenians.
In 1988, we decided that we will no longer allow such naivety. That is why it is necessary that Gyumri, Sisian and Tavush people stand next to the people of Artsakh in the trench. No international organization has the right to say what they are doing there. Just as the defensive army of Artsakh will occupy a populated area, a height or a defense line, wherever it is located, it is its right, hence, this army has decided to defend its citizens in this way.
International organizations, Russia, the United States and the rest put the slaughters and those who protect themselves from them, at best, on one plane and make hypocritical calls for peace. At worst, as it is done particularly by our EaEU and CSTO “brothers” Belarus and Kazakhstan, they say, good for you, slaughters, and you, the defendants, put down your weapons and go away. This is also suggested by the PACE well-known Pedro.
Do we have the light to ignore the so-called “international community”? It seems to me, yes. If anyone of those who was making calls for peace really wanted peace, he would refer to Azerbaijan that has resumed war to stop its aspirations. But since no one is going to do something like this, we cannot reckon with anyone and do what we need to. Certainly, I, the government officials, can say such a thing but not the diplomats. One cannot say but do.
Armenia and Artsakh do not have any strategic or even tactical ally outside. Instead, these two countries have very powerful internal allies. They are the youth who give their clear answer to the enemy’s encroachments. They are the people of Artsakh who look at these encroachments very quietly, even, in my impression, with slight contempt, and each of them is busy with his job. They are the thousands of Armenians who are lining up to go to the front. These allies of Armenia and Artsakh are more powerful than the most powerful superpowers and are more dangerous for the enemy than the most advanced weapons. We once again became convinced in it in these days.
