Will everything be back to its normal course?

April 08,2016 12:08

There are people in Armenia (fortunately, a few number) who believe that now it is the right time to throw light on political and personal matters or to talk about their insults of 25 years. I do not think that these people are traitors to the nation or “play into the hands of the enemy.” Simply, the words said and written by these people are not so accepted at this point, or speaking in a more specialized language, create a dissonance. But I do not doubt that the fewer are the shots, the more dissonant become the words, and in a few days, they will again become dominant. God grant no danger to our soldiers standing on the positions, let the politicians, their spokespersons and ordinary “offended” begin voicing their traditional “repertoire” as soon as possible.

It is clear that the political struggle, sooner or later, should be resumed, it is normal and natural. But whether with the same ideas and vocabulary. One of my friends gave this question to me and the answer is obvious, yes, nothing will change, this 4-day war will also become a subject of internal political speculations and in one week, it will be completely come out of the agenda. People will return to their petty problems.

I will also ask together with my friend, whether this consolidation of the people and political forces, as well as the heroism of our soldiers, will have no effect on the public life and people will again begin finding fault with, collecting scores at the cost of the blood of the martyrs and be engaged in social populism. Yes, this will be continued as long as any political force will not sincerely formulate the positive vision, which will unite all the citizens as the external danger unites.

I do not know what this vision looks like but if I were a politician, I would make the following conclusions from this 4-day war:

1/ We should not beg for anything from any superpower, nor to ingratitude as to why they do not help us. Send the EaEU and the CSTO to the place where Serzh Sargsyan has sent the Armenian-Turkish protocols. To establish peer-to-peer partnering relations with Russia and all other stakeholder countries, if they do not want it, it’s up to them.

2/ To review the working practice of our foreign ministry, making it more pursuing initiative and proactive.

3 / Without empty threats, “camps”, empty promises of revolution, without fuming at and attaching labels, quietly and in a consolidated manner, to compel the government authorities to respect their citizens.

Our nation truly is worthy of respect.
