This year’s Kangaroo international math contest has a record number of prizewinners.
5 of 41.000 students of 1012 schools of Armenia and Artsakh became winners. They are Andriasyan Hayk (N 132 school, Yerevan), Gevorgyan Gagik (N 71 school, Yerevan), Chatinyan Gagik (N 11 school, Yerevan) Mkrtchyan Mikayel (PhysMath School after Artashes Shahinyan, Yerevan), Nersisyan Sergey (PhysMath School after Artashes Shahinyan, Yerevan).
In addition to the 5 winners, there are 886 students who showed best results and will be awarded diplomas and prizes. Moreover, the Ayb Educational Foundation, the contest organizer, will award special prizes to 713 more students at schools with no best results or winners. Thus, in total 1604 students will be awarded Kangaroo prizes this year.
From 30 May to 3 June a rewarding ceremony will be held in 30 cities of Armenia and Artsakh.

Kangaroo is the most widespread and loved school contest, which is held on the same day every year in 63 countries. The contest is held directly in schools for all students of 3th-12th grades who wish to participate regardless of their mathematical abilities. The contest is not held between schools; the aim is to cause a general interest toward mathematics, making it more attractive and beloved.
