On June 16, the Board of Trustees of the Youth Foundation of Armenia (YFA) held a session moderated by Prime Minister Hovig Aprahamian, as reported the press service of the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
The 2015 Annual Report of the YFA was considered and approved during the session. Executive Director of the Youth Foundation of Armenia Alexander Der-Hovagimian reported that the Foundation had carried out about 330 programs and projects, including the program for reimbursement of tuition that helped reimburse the tuition of a total of nearly 900 students. Der-Hovagimian mentioned that 316 students from the bordering villages of the Republic of Armeniareceived financial assistance through this program for the first time. The program for support to young scholars helped provide funding for 56 applications for participation in global forums and conferences, 25 applications for the acquisition of materials and devices for research and 5 applications for thebook publications. The Foundation gave incentives to 149 beneficiaries for their articles published in foreign journals and magazines. It was also mentioned that the Foundation had carried out many activities in the sport, healthcare, social-economic and tourism sectors.
The Board of Trustees considered and approved the 2016 Budget of the YFA and the opinion of the audit regarding financial reports for the year 2015. The Foundation also approved the procedure for granting scholarships on a non-competitive basis to students not included in the free education system at higher educational institutions of the Republic of Armenia.
