Human right activist Artur Sakunts presenting his views to Aravot.am about the situation of tonight in Khorenatsi Street and Sari Tagh area said that the government represented by the police and law enforcements obviously provokes involuntary demonstration of citizens to incite incidents and collisions with the police, “According to the information received by the participants of involuntary campaign, the police in plainclothes or the agents who were the first ones to throw stones and show violence against the police officers already in uniforms was suggesting similar actions by other demonstrators.”
The human rights defender noted that similar behavior of policemen in civilian clothes is already noticed in various events, reminiscent of days of water cannon during the “Electric Yerevan” last year when the police officers in plainclothes among the demonstrators were the first to detain the protesters.
The fact that people sitting under trees were detained, by brutal force, aggression and abuse words, according to the human rights activist, speaks to the fact that this was just a pretext but a real purpose revenge on citizens who have carried out the protest in the place, which according to human rights activist is beyond any norms regulating the police actions. According to him, the real cause of the demonstration was against the use of brutal force.
