September 24,2016 17:32

On 23 September, the Court of First Instance of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts was investigating the petitions of extending the detention of “Sasna Tsrer” members and their supporters.  As well as the lawsuits of politician Andreas Ghukasyan and a member of “Rise up Armenia” initiative Davit Hovhannisyan were investigated.  The investigation of the petition for Davit Hovhannisyan’s detention extension was scheduled at 16:30 but the investigator was not present and the hearing was postponed until 20:00.

However, David Hovhannisyan’s lawyer Hovik Arsenyan told Aravot.am that the court hearing, however, has not taken place.  The court building was cut off the electricity.  Due to the lack of electricity, the investigation of the petition for Andreas Ghukasyan’s detention was also interrupted.  The court will consider the petition to extend David Hvhannisyan’s detention on Saturday, September 24, at 14:00 pm.  Note that David Hovhannisyan is charged under paragraph 2 of Article 225 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (Involvement in mass disorders).  And Andreas Ghukasyan is charged under Article 225, part 1 of the Criminal Code, namely, in organizing mass disorders.
