The Azerbaijani forces have continued violating the ceasefire along the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan on Wednesday. Apart from firearms, the adversary has used AGS-17 automatic grenade launchers and SPG-9 gun in the northeastern (Talish) direction, NKR Defense Army reported.
According to the release, Karabakh Defense Army serviceman, Gurgen Ayvazyan, 1996, received a fatal gunshot wound as a result of Azerbaijani shooting at around 17:00 on the combat position of a military unit located in the northeastern direction of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army.
An investigation is underway to look into the circumstances.
NKR Defense Army shares the grief of the irreparable loss and conveys its support to the soldier’s family, relatives and fellow soldiers,” reads the statement.
