On November 3, Edward Nalbandian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, met with Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany.
Welcoming Edward Nalbandian in Berlin, Frank-Walter Steinmeier underlined the importance of regular mutual visits aimed at developing the Armenian-German friendly relations.
Minister Nalbandian in his turn stated that each meeting provides a new impetus to the existing warm relations and helps defining new ways of cooperation.
The interlocutors discussed in details steps aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in different areas.

Edward Nalbandian and Frank-Walter Steinmeier exchanged views on the ongoing collaboration within the framework of cooperation for development. Minister Nalbandian highly appreciated the support of the Government of Germany to the ongoing reforms in Armenia.
The sides also touched upon the urgent international and regional problems. The Ministers discussed the situation in the Middle East, particularly, in Syria, exchanged views on the migration flows and issues related to their integration.
During the meeting, issues related to the Armenia-European Union cooperation were discussed.
Within the context of German OSCE Chairmanship, views were exchanged on the agenda issues of the Organization, preparatory works of the Hamburg Ministerial Council.
Within the context of settlement process of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Edward Nalbandian drew the attention of Frank-Walter Steinmeier, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, to the fact that Azerbaijan refuses to implement the agreements reached during the Vienna and St. Petersburg summits aimed at the creation of conducive conditions for the advancement of settlement process of the issue. Moreover it continues to escalate the situation along the Line of Contact between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Minister Nalbandian commended the support of the German OSCE Chairmanship at the OSCE to the efforts exerted by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards the exclusively peaceful settlement of the issue. The interlocutors shared the opinion that the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue has no alternative.
