Narcotic drugs in especially large amount found in Yerevan

A citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran Muhammad Assadi, 45, and a citizen of the Republic of Armenia A. Hakobyan were detained on Yerevan’s Khorenatsi street for illicit drug trafficking following special measure taken by officers from the General Department on combating drug trafficking of Police of the Republic of Armenia.

As the press department of the Police reports, through search of Muhammad Assadi 20 tablets and more than 1 kg of brown mass of Methadone and opium drugs were found, as confessed by the suspects.

Through the search of Gyumri resident, A. Hakobyan half kg of black mass was found. According to the suspect’s statement, the found mass was opium type of drug, which was later confirmed by forensic examination.

Additionally, through the search of Muhammad Assadi’s place of residence 50 tablets in different markings and black solid mass was revealed.

Assadi and Hakobyan are arrested. The investigation of the case is underway.
