On December 2, at the meeting with the journalists at the press hall of “Armenpress”, Tamara Tovmasyan, specialist of the Department of Armenian studies and social cultural subjects of the National Institute of Education and Sciences of Armenia, drew the attention on the school of the Armenian children named after Hrant Dink, Istanbul, Turkey.
“It is amazing that education was 8 years and this year, it had become 9 years. All the subjects without exception are conducted in Armenian, including the history of Armenia. It is not surprising that in Russia, we can barely maintain or open one-day schools, or to reopen Armenian cultural clubs. Perhaps, it is the politics and I cannot do anything. Hence, it is amazing that everything in this school is Armenian and not a single lesson in Turkish. This is a great achievement to have a 9-year education in Turkey, even if it is a politics,” said she.
Tamara Tovmasyan noted that a question has been raised before the Minister of Education that these children when graduating from the school they definitely should receive graduation certificates from Armenia and come to Armenia to study.
