“Given the well-known statement after the RPA EB session in 2015, naturally, the return with Gagik Tsarukyan must be agreed upon or at least should not be against it. This is simple,” so commented human rights activist Avetik Ishkhanyan in an interview with Aravot.am referring to the rumors of Gagik Tsarukyan’s return to the active political field. Note that today, the PAP political council has applied to Gagik Tsarukyan with a request to return to active politics. He had not refused. As mentioned by Avetik Ishkhanyan, “Generally, these requests that are asked by the whole nation for somebody to return, once Levon Ter-Petrosyan used to say, later in 1998, they were requesting Demirchyan to return. The requests do not happen all of a sudden.
People never go somewhere all of a sudden to request somebody, and the request is settled. I am confident that today’s PAP session request was organized. And then they will say, well, if they are requesting, I am not going to disregard their request. This is quite clear for me.” According to Mr. Ishkhanyan, the government has agreed for Gagik Tsarukyan to return because after the RPA EB session he is already manageable, “It is much more beneficial non-government force than the radical political forces. The fact that people will follow him and will vote for him, I have no doubts. In this case, he will perform the role of Karen Demirchyan in 1998. Karen Demirchyan was also invited by the government to hamper the opposition to struggle and promote the reproduction of the power.” Avetik Ishkhanyan told never to believe someone sitting at home and people all of a sudden go to his house and asked to return to the politics, it is clear that it was organized by this person in order to say later, well, people requested and I returned. Mr. Ishkhanyan is confident that Gagik Tsarukyan is more controllable, hence, he is very appropriate for the government to enter the political field now.
