Mr. Secretary General,
Distinguished Colleagues,
Our servicemen in Afghanistan and our presence here today are the best testimonies to our enduring commitment to peace, security and stability in Afghanistan. We stand united within The Resolute Support Mission in our joint efforts to meet these objectives and help Afghan authorities to provide effective control across the country and ensure its long term safety. A lot has been achieved, however, much still needs to be done.
The security related incidents continue to take place drawing our attention to the challenges that Afghanistan faces. Alarming reports about Taliban activities and the presence of ISIS and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan are disturbing. It reminds us that insecurity in one place of the world threatens all of us, if remains unaddressed. It also strengthens our determination to continue concerted efforts in addressing security requirements of those in need. The terrorists should be deprived of the opportunity to find breeding grounds.
It is with this understanding that Armenia committed to contribute to joint efforts in maintaining international peace and security. In this regard our participation in past and present international missions ranges from Iraq to Kosovo, Lebanon and Mali.
