Civic activist Vaghinak Shushanyan known from “Electric Yerevan” initiative will be nominated by the list of “Free Democrats” party for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Lori marz, No.9 electoral station. He told Aravot.am that the party has not offered a mandatory condition for him to be a party member, he will remain a non-partisan. Vaghinak Shushanyan said he had already received offers from several parties to be nominated by their lists but he had refused to name the parties, Vaghinak Shushanyan did not specify, “It would be anti-campaign of the party, therefore, I would like not to raise it. Why specifically “Free Democrats” because I have passed quite a long way with some of the members of this party; we had organized initiatives and protests from the time of incidents with Permyakov. In addition, it is an ideological party and more dear to me, therefore, I accepted the offer of “Free Democrats”. I highly estimate our chances and I believe that there are chances to enter the parliament. I think it’s time to make our voice audible from the upper tribunes apart from street flights. There are things which the younger generation can change.”
Referring Gagik Tsarukyan’s return and the stance of former opposition leaders, the parliamentary candidate Vaghinak Shushanyan refrained from giving assessments, “Every person is doing his job as much as he can, I will neither give qualities to them nor comment on them. Let every mind its own business. So far, I would refrain expressing an opinion about them as some processes are taking place and when these reshufflings are over, it will become clear who is entering the politics with what ambitions or how he is returning to the politics.” Lori-born Vaghinak Shushanyan also said that his goal to enter the Parliament is to promote the solution of the problems that look unsolvable for years in Lori, “There are problems with citizens living in domiks and a lack of jobs causing emigration … people are tired of old political figures who are promising the same thing but do not keep them.”
